Summary

The Great Lakes Justice Center had the privilege of representing the Great Lakes Educations’ Convention and the Michigan Association of Christian Schools by filing an Amicus Brief in the United States Supreme Court.

This case presents two questions concerning a letter issued by the Department of Education regarding transgender bathrooms and the agency’s opinion and interpretation of Title IX, 20 U.S.C § 1681(a), (prohibiting discrimination based on sex), and of 34 C.F.R. § 106.33, (allowing schools to designate “separate toilet, locker rooms, and shower facilities” based on the sex of the students, faculty, and parents).
